Epithalon 2mg/mL (5mL) is a research peptide formulation containing Epithalon (also known as Epitalon), a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It was originally developed from epithalamin, a natural peptide produced by the pineal gland, which plays a key role in regulating circadian rhythm and aging processes.
Epithalon is primarily studied for its potential effects on cellular aging and longevity. Its most notable mechanism involves activation of telomerase, an enzyme responsible for maintaining and elongating telomeres—the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes. Shortened telomeres are associated with aging and cellular senescence, and research suggests Epithalon may help preserve or extend telomere length in certain cell models.
Additional research indicates that Epithalon may influence melatonin production by modulating pineal gland function, potentially improving sleep quality and circadian rhythm regulation. It has also demonstrated antioxidant and neuroprotective properties in preclinical studies, along with possible benefits in retinal health and overall cellular repair mechanisms.
